Scott Baio is 45 and Single, Finale - The End We Never Saw Coming

So it's the season end and we have two questions we need answered.

1) Why is Scott Baio 45 and single?
2) Is Scott Baio ready to get married?

Well we find out the answer to question number 1 in the first five minutes of the show during Scott's final session with Doc Ali. His answer was the much discussed fact that he's always looking for the next best thing. That's the big thing that has been holding him back. Well, until now... we hope.

Scott's still not sure where he stands on question number two. He explains to Doc Ali that the whole idea of a prenup, ring shopping, and all that goes into planning a wedding scares him. Doc Ali suggests he get his feet wet by going and looking at some rings, and maybe talking to a lawyer about a prenup to ease some of the fears. She also wants to have a session with Renee. Scott agrees to set it up, but not before he receives a creepy text message from Johnny V. Scott explains to Doc Ali that since the "break-up" Johnny has been texting him constantly, even sending pictures. Ick. Johnny has definitely crossed the line from jackass to creepy old guy in need of a life.

Now that Scott has completed his final session with Doc Ali, he heads out to play some golf with the guys, minus Johnny of course. Scott lets the guys in on the break-up with Johnny, and the creepy text messages. They all agree golf is quieter without Johnny. Surprise, surprise. The guys press Scott about whether he's going to propose to Renee or not. When Scott gives them the I'm scared of ring shopping and prenup speech, both Cooch & Jason step up to help Scott out. Jason offers to set up a meeting with his cousin, who is a big shot Hollywood divorce lawyer to go over the finer points of a prenup with Scott, while Cooch convinces him to go with him to purchase his own wedding bands, so that Scott can look at some engagement rings. Scott agrees to both and invites the guys to a graduation party he's throwing to celebrate the end of his therapy with Doc Ali.

The next day Scott meets with Jason's cousin who gives him the 411 on the prenup process. She then asks the question we're all dying to have answered, "So are you in need of a prenup?" Scott coyly says, "I'll call you." Damn you, Baio!

Meanwhile back at the ranch, Doc Ali has met up with Renee for their session. Renee quickly becomes my favorite of all the girls Scott has dated. She explains to Doc Ali that she doesn't have to have a man, and she doesn't need a man to be happy. She's with Scott because she CHOOSES to be with Scott, not because she has to be with him. She admits to offering up her heart to Scott, but that if he can't offer her the commitment she needs, she's gone. Underneath her tough girl talk though, we see a softness come over her as she starts talking about how her and Scott always being there for each other. She tells Doc Ali about the side of Scott underneath his NY tough guy attitude, and about wanting to have a baby with him. I don't care about how scripted or unscripted is, because now I'm rooting for Renee as much as I'm rooting for Scott! Damn you VH1, and your perfect editing, playing on my emotions like this.

Back in town Scott is with Cooch at the jewelers. In spite of all the faces Scott makes when reading the price, he still manages to take a pretty close look at a couple of rings. Of course the moment is ruined by the continuous, obnoxious, and creepy text messages being sent by Johnny. "This isn't over you bastard," says one. What is he Glenn Close in Fatal Attraction now?

The following morning Scott is watching the party planners decorate for the party. He vents to Jason on the phone that's he's STILL not sure what to do. Jason gives him the best advice we've heard all season. He accuses Scott of always putting it off until tomorrow, but today's the day. He's out of tomorrows.

It's the evening of Scott "graduation" party. Most everyone is there, including some of Scott's exes we saw earlier in the season. Even Johnny V makes an appearance, all though it's from behind a locked gate. Renee arrives and has a warm moment reuniting with Scott. Finally the moment of truth has arrived. Scott takes Renee off to the side and thanks her for sticking with him these last 8 weeks. Then as the perfect music (Simple Minds..AWESOME) plays, Scott tells Renee that he's ready to get married, to which she replies that so is she. YAY!

As they kiss we hear Scott's voice over saying that he'll always remember that moment vividly, because at that moment he realized that Renee was the best thing in his life, and all the stress and doubt just faded away. Please cue in my school girl sigh here. Have I mentioned I love Scott Baio by the way?

Just when I thought it was over, in a moment of pure celebreality gold, Renee leans over to Scott and whispers that they're going to have a baby! It was at that moment I wiped away my single happy tear, and vowed that I will be back for season 2. Oh yes, I will definitely be back. So what's the moral of Scott Baio is 45... and Single? Simple. Sometimes the best thing is what's right in front of you.
