Scott Baio is 45 and Single, Episode 2 - Cheapie Cheater Chachi

Well, here we are again. It's week 3 in Scott Baio's 8-week program. This week's session, commitment. Which is apparently to Scott what Freddy Krueger was to me when I was 5 years old. During the session Scott confesses he's never been faithful to anyone, EVER. Except for Renee, of course (sure Scott, WHATEVER you say...). We also see Scott has not waisted any energy on being sorry for cheating on any of these ladies. Why say your sorry when you can just leave? he says. Before I go on, can I just say, at this point any woman who ever attempts a relationship with Scott after watching this show, deserves what she gets.

Also during this session Scott tells Doc Ali that he does indeed equate marriage with bondage versus freedom. Lovely, Scott. I wonder, if Scott and Renee get married, will he write his own vows?

The session ends with Scott receiving his next assignment, apologize to one of his biggest and most bitter cheating victims, actress Julie McCullough.

Julie McCullough starred as Mike Seaver's fiance on Growing Pains, who left Mike the day before the wedding due to cold feet. It's rumored that she was actually fired from the show because she posed for Playboy (Which makes sense, because Scott will only date girls who have been on Baywatch or in Playboy).

Scott goes to see Julie who is doing stand-up at the Improv, using who else but our darling Chachi as the punchline.

Upon seeing Scott, Julie proceeds to rip him a new one in front of an entire audience, calling him Cheapie Cheater Chachi. This goes on until he actually runs from the room. This got me thinking, can I hire her to ream my ex in public? I wonder how much she charges? Maybe she does birthdays...

After the show, Scott surprises Julie by showing up backstage to talk (considering the cameras where already set up right next to her when he came in, I'm not sure how "surprised" she really was). Julie's anger subsides after she hears Scott give a pretty heartfelt apology. The visit ends with Julie getting the closure she wanted and Scott getting the forgiveness he hadn't realized he needed. Plus, he says she can keep using him as material for her show, so everybody wins.

Then, just when I was checking to make sure I hadn't turned on a Lifetime movie by accident, Johnny B and the guys show up to take Scott to Palm Springs. (Damn't you guys, I said it last week, and I will say it again this week, you ARE NOT the new Rat Pack. Please stop trying.). I guess the trip is a way to test his vow of celibacy. Of course the boys walk smack dab into the middle of a bachlorette party. Where Johnny B (trying to win a $5,000 bet by getting Scott to break his vow of celibacy) quickly invites all the ladies back to the house "for laughs". The real twist comes back at the house when Scott simply goes to bed, alone. I honestly DID NOT see that coming. With Scott out of the picture, Johnny is left with a group of girls who couldn't get out of there fast enough. That, I saw coming.

Before heading home Doc Ali calls Scott with one more assignment: to visit some friends of hers in Palm Springs who have been married for 51 years. During their meeting, Scott considers the possibility that maybe there is more to marriage than bondage. The lunch ends with them telling Scott to get a wife and get a life. Pretty much sums up the whole show if you ask me.

So Scott heads back to LA with his celibacy intact and a little more open to the idea that marriage might not be a jail sentence. I'm not sure how long that attitude will last considering the scenes for next week. Which, if I'm not mistaken, looks like Scott and Johnny B hang out with some of the rejects from Bret Michael's Rock of Love.

Say what you will about this show, I'm just happy to have a weekly dose of Baio. Charles in Charge reruns, where are you when I need you?
