Celebrity Fit Club: Men vs. Women – Episode 6, The Dust Settles

This week I actually enjoyed watching Fit Club a bit more than I have. I realized that the drama that Dustin Diamond’s bringing on is bringing everything down. I’m still not convinced that Diamond isn’t being egged on by the producers and such, but…I’d rather see uplifting TV than rude and crude VH-1 fare, unless it’s brought to you by Flavor Flav and the peeps associated with him.

The episode began with a brief recap of what went down last week. Dustin made a crude remark about getting a dildo for Kimberley Locke and the cast walked-off. After Dustin and Tiffany left—Tiffany said it was very traumatic for her to be there, reminding her too much of her childhood—Kimberley returned to weigh in and finish up the session. She lost three pounds. Although she didn’t quite hit her target of four lbs, Kim’s been consistent with the program and had a difficult night.

We also got to see the video for her new song, “Change.” Harvey told her that her next target would be 2 pounds.

Stacy invites the cast to an open-air therapy session so they can chat about what went down. Dustin, however, didn’t show. He actually was a no-show for the entire episode. I, for one, didn’t really miss him. Like Ross, I have nothing against him, but I think his energy would be better spent in getting healthy.

Tiffany says she’s shocked at the level Dustin takes things and feels like a traitor if she’s nice to him because then he turns around and disses people she cares about and could be saying hurtful things about her too. She just doesn’t know how to act around him. Da Brat was very angry by what he said about Kim and well, she just doesn’t want to antagonize him because she feels he’s doing this all for extra camera time.

Maureen admitted that she was especially hurt by Dustin’s comments about retarded people. Her brother is one and she’s had to face that prejudice all his life. Kim can’t stand that he’s just there to maximize his ‘career’, not to work on his weight loss. Ross, as Dustin’s team captain, wants to be the peacemaker. He just doesn’t want to abandon The Dust, but he’s not sure he should put in the effort anymore.

Afterwards, Kim mentioned that the energy was different without Dustin there. In fact, it was a very happy and positive group, much nicer to watch I thought.

The challenge was designed by Harvey and it had the clubbers working on letting go of their ‘control’ issues. They each had to climb a 30 ft. pole, then walk across a beam and swing out towards a cliff. Warren G. couldn’t complete on his first pass. He got freaked out. Mo was scared too, but she toughed it out and giggled afterwards that she wanted to do it again.

Ross was a trouper ‘til the “leap of faith” portion. Then, he screamed, “I want my mommy.” However, he took the leap and was pleasantly surprised by how much he enjoyed it. Kim said she was doing it for Warren. Cledus amazed me that he got up and did it despite his fear of flying and heights. He admitted that this was big stuff in his road to recovery. I was most proud of him.

Da Brat chumped out. She didn’t make it all the way up the pole. The second time Warren tried, he succeeded after getting stuck on the leap of faith portion. Everyone laughed as the crew tried to extricate him. In the end, he said he’d do it again as long as he didn’t get stuck.

Dr. Ian wasn’t at the weigh-in ‘cuz he and his missus had a baby boy. Awww! Dustin was a no-show, but that didn’t seem to upset anyone. Not even the audience I’ll bet.

Warren G. lost 2 lbs, bringing himself down to 194. He’s shed a total of 27 lbs throughout the series and is only six pounds away from his season’s target. Next time, he’s gotta drop three pounds.

Tiffany shed 3 out of the four pounds of her target. She was upset that she didn’t make it but she’s back in the fight. With 7 lbs. to go to make her season target, she’ll have to shed four next time.

Maureen, who lost 19.3% of her body weight so far and is the season’s leader, hit her one-pound target. She’s already reached her goal for the season so it’s all gravy. She’s down to 121 lbs and looking beautiful. She also tried out a new exercise, Pillow Fighting. (Seriously, it’s a sport now.) My husband is so thrilled.

Next time, Mo wants to lose 3 lbs. to bring her down to her absolute goal of 118.

Da Brat gained a pound. She admitted that she didn’t work out that much and said, “I guess you’ve got to eat right and exercise to lose weight.” Ummm…yeah, you do. Harvey wanted her to do the challenge with the rope at Fit Camp, but said he’d come up with an alternative for her to try. Brat’s she’d a total of 18 lbs. Her next target is 5 lbs.

Ross, like Mo, had already hit his season target. He lost one pound from the goal he set of two pounds, but admitted that he wasn’t upset. He vowed to lose 3 lbs. next time. That’ll bring him down to 178 lbs.

Cledus didn’t shed a pound this week and got very upset. He told Stacy that he was angry they made him eat a variety of foods. He was doing fine just eating chicken and broccoli and wishes that they’d have just left him alone. Both Stacy and Harvey told him that it’s natural to hit a plateau, which is what he did, and he’s got to keep moving forward. Cledus said he was going to go back to some old habits. Stacy was worried for him. So am I.

Harvey told him to stay the course and he’ll see a difference next week. He’s already lost 29 lbs and he should celebrate that. His new target is 2 lbs.

Kimberley was the final one to weigh-in. She decided to put all the anger and negativity Dustin brought last week into taking care of herself and working out and hard and all that. She was applauded for being so positive. (I don’t necessarily love the good vs. evil theme here, but… oh well!) Kim decided not to quit the show because the cast was supportive and she was getting more out of it than Dustin was trying to take away. She made her two pound target and is down 21 lbs. total to 155. When asked if she wanted Dustin to come back, she said yes because she wants her team to win. She plans to ignore him if he does return.

In the end, we saw what can be termed an interview with Dustin but it made no sense. I wonder how it was edited. Maybe Dustin will come back. Maybe he won’t. Why they don’t bring someone else in, I’m not sure!

So, are you enjoying the Celebrity Sh*t Club as little as I am? Why the heck do they keep Dustin on? Is this all contrived drama to get ratings for the cameras? Drop me a line at panndyra@yahoo.com or check out my blog at http://www.teamrt.com. I’d love to hear from you.
