Survivor: Fiji, Episode 11--Whine, Whine, Whine

Last week on Survivor: Cassandra won reward, Yau-Man won immunity, but the show got good when the plotting began. Dreamz had a big mouth and told both alliances everything the other was planning, and Edgardo got blindsided when he was voted out after Alex played their hidden immunity idol for no reason other than being duped.

This week starts out with Mookie and Alex whining about how they were betrayed. Dreamz is upset because the big alliance didn’t tell him they were changing their votes from Mookie to Edgardo. Earl and Stacy convince him that they didn’t mean anything by it, but they were afraid he was getting misinformation. He seemed to buy this and was okay with it. Earl said his alliance was a strong six people against just Mookie and Alex and Stacy comments that they will be lucky if they even get fed anymore. Ouch, still bitter about being the answer to the mean questions last reward challenge, Stacy?

The next morning, Dreamz goes over to Mookie and Alex to say he’d been had just as they were. Mookie was still mad he voted against him, however, so that didn’t fly. Dreamz says he just wants to secure jury votes at this point.

Once again, the reward challenge greets the Survivors with two different mats painted green and orange. They will be split into two teams of 4 and compete for a reward of a spa day including the not-so-subtle product placement of Olay bath soaps. Each team will have a person launching balls from a water balloon launcher on a platform. The other team members will be running around in the mud trying to catch the balls in a basket on a stick. The first team to catch 5 balls total wins the reward and gets to send someone to Exile Island. The teams will be Yau-Man shooting with Boo, Cassandra, and Mookie catching for the orange squad, and Stacy shooting to Earl, Alex, and Dreamz on the green team. Survivors, ready? Shoot!

The orange team takes an early lead with 2-0, but then Dreamz catches a couple in a row to tie it up. It is starting to get physical and Alex tosses Boo to the ground who starts to moan in pain. It’s bad enough that Jeff calls in the medical team. Boo decides his ACL has slipped over top of his other ligaments and tries to pop it back into place. A HUGE pop can be heard (EW!) and he is able to walk and run on it again. Ouch. The game resumes and eventually Dreamz makes the winning catch for the Green Team. Earl announces they are sending Boo to Exile Island because he’s been living in luxury for the whole game. I think that’s a brilliant move because he’s part of the main alliance and loyal so he can get the clue for the re-hidden idol.

When Boo gets to Exile Island, he gets the clue that says the idol is back at camp near a single tree within easy reach. He says it’s a good thing it’s not on Exile Island because he needs time to rest his knee because it hurts. MY knee hurts from hearing his pop like that.

Meanwhile, Earl, Alex, Cassandra, and Dreamz are flying to the spa. They all moan as they take showers with the prominently displayed Olay Body Wash. At dinner, it gets awkward as Alex tries to beg his way into the alliance. He corners Earl by the pool and asks him what the boot order will be, but Earl’s not biting on that one. Alex throws Mookie under the bus by telling Earl that Mookie is ready to leave. Earl cleverly tells him that means Mookie gets to stay around longer, then.

The next day, the clean winners get back to camp and Mookie whines about how they smell like fruit and he doesn’t want to hear about how great it was. Yau-Man goes off to fish and Mookie and Alex decide to look through Yau-Man’s bag to see if he has the other hidden idol. They realize he always wears the same pants to Tribal Council and find the idol in his pocket. For some reason, this excites them as they try to decide what to do to use this information to their advantage. They run off into the woods to discuss it, but they don’t realize that Cassandra and Stacy are nearby eavesdropping on them. They come up with some “explosive” plan to call him out in front of everyone at Tribal Council. It doesn’t sound like it will make much of an impact at all, but their egos are quickly re-inflating. Stacy shifts and a twig snaps, so Mookie and Alex are mad to find out the girls were there the whole time. They decide to run back to camp before the girls can get there and confront Yau-Man about the idol immediately.

What the “2 horseman braintrust” don’t know is that Cassandra and Stacy couldn’t hear more than a few words of what they were saying, so they have no idea what’s going on. That doesn’t deter Alex and Mookie who immediately ask Yau-Man if he was going to tell everyone about his hidden idol or should they do it. Yau-Man asks how they know he has it and they stupidly admit to looking through his bag. Yau-Man tells them they have to do what they’ve got to do. He confesses that it won’t hurt him that much in the game, but he may have to use it differently now. Yau-Man tells Stacy that Mookie and Alex went through his stuff and then threatened him if he didn’t tell everyone about it. This makes her and the rest of the alliance mad at Alex and Mookie for going through Yau-Man’s personal stuff and no one really mentions the idol. That is, except Dreamz who confesses that this information makes Yau-Man very dangerous in the game.

The immunity challenge is like a very large game of Battleship. Each Survivor picks 3 squares that are connected on a grid of sorts and then they each take a turn calling out a grid square to sink the other players. I was interested to see that everyone except Alex picked a diagonal configuration for their squares. Anyway, long story short, it came down to Stacy, Alex, and Yau-Man. Alex and Yau-Man had only one square left open and Stacy had two and it was her turn. She picks the right square to sink both of her opponents and wins immunity.

When they get back to camp, Alex formulates a desperate plan to make Yau-Man look like a liar that I don’t think he implemented, but if he did, it didn’t work. The bigger alliance tries to decide who to vote for because Boo is worried one of them has stumbled across the idol since the clue said it was easy to find. The majority wants to split their votes (3 for Mookie, 3 for Alex) just in case one of them plays the idol. Earl doesn’t like to split votes, but goes with the majority so he doesn’t ruffle any feathers.

At the Tribal Council Mookie and Alex continue their episode long whining adventure when they talk about how their alliance was broken up by Dreamz who was being a snake and a rat. They admit to going through Yau-Man’s bag and finding the idol and Jeff tells them that’s about the snakiest ratty thing they could have done. Earl agrees and thought there was enough respect amongst the tribe to have a little privacy. Dreamz then states that Mookie and Alex will be the next to go and then the big alliance will have to come apart and boot each other. This makes Alex happy as he says that they have to think about what they are doing now and how it will affect the end game.

It’s time to vote. The only votes shown are Mookie who votes for Boo and Alex who surprisingly votes for Mookie. Jeff tallies the votes and no one plays a hidden idol. He then reads the votes:

Alex
Alex
Mookie
Boo
Mookie
Mookie
Alex
The last vote is for Mookie and he is voted out of the tribe.

Jeff points out there is now a strong group of six and Alex, so Alex is either the odd man out or very valuable.

Next week on Survivor: Alex goes undercover to try to weasel his way back into the game. Boo starts annoying everyone, and the reward challenge is supposed to be a fun time.

Mookie’s last words were more whining and talking about how he wishes he was still there making everyone as miserable as he was. Thank goodness I’m done hearing him whine.

One whiner down, one to go! When do you think Alex will be booted? Send me an email: heather@realityshack.com
