Pussycat Dolls: Search for the Next Doll, Episode 7 – Who’s Afraid of the Little Kitty B*tch
The competition might be winding down on The Pussycat Dolls: Search for the Next Doll, but the tension is heating up. Well, it’s tepid at least. Melissa S. and Chelsea are not getting along. We should all know by now that Melissa S. thinks Chelsea sucks as a dancer and only a hot dancer can win this thing.
However, she also seems to be intimidated by baby doll Chelsea’s beauty and her killer singing voice. The girl needs a vocal contract even if she doesn’t win the competition. She’s an amazing singer. (Too bad she didn’t try out for American Idol. Imagine, a sexy girl who can sing! She’d have wiped the rug with Antonella and Sanjaya.)
Robin congratulates the gals on making it this far and tells them they’re going to sing solos and learn a dance routine to “Beep.” (Right now, I’m listening to that song. I’ve done it – I’ve gone and bought the Pussycat Dolls CD. Yes, I feel dirty, but that’s not so bad. That Robin Antin is a genius.)
Chelsea gets to sing a Christina Aguilera song. Big shocker there! Melissa S. is doing Norah Jones’ “I Don’t Know Why” and breathes new life into the words, “I didn’t come.” Yes, I went there, but more on that later.
Melissa R. has to tackle Mary J. Blige’s “I’m Going Down” (I’ll be nice. You can insert your own punchline here) and Asia has a JoJo song. I can’t remember the title, but is it really necessary?
During the dancing session, Chelsea stumbles. Not literally, but figuratively. Melissa S. smiles like a Cheshire cat every time Chelsea makes a misstep. It’s so annoying. She’s such a b*tch, y’all. Afterwards, Asia actually helps Chelsea out. Melissa S. is upset. She’s all like, “I’d never help her.” We know. We get it. You’re a b*tch.
During the rehearsals, Robin, who I must admit has killer abs, tells the gals that they’re going to take part in a special challenge. No, there’s not more immunity. All four will be still subject to elimination, but the winner of the challenge will still want the prize. Oh yes, she will.
The competition consists of a media blitz. The girls have to do a commercial for Secret Scent Expressions, you know the product that’s been showing up repeatedly during the broadcasts of the show so far. Asia is nervous about public speaking and all that, but kicks butt. Her commercial is strong. The other girls have more trouble with it especially Melissa S. who strikes some weird cheerleading pose throughout.
Then, the gals have a photo shoot. One of them says it’s like a different type of performing. Um, okay. Chelsea and Melissa S. are called out by Robin. She tells them to show more energy. This is what the life of a Doll is like. It’s go,go,go constantly.
Finally, they sit down and do an interview with host Mark McGrath, who’s also on the tabloid show Extra. (Hey, does anyone else remember when he used to sing with Sugar Ray? I liked him better then. He needs to go back to music, really. Like now.)
Asia is very engaging despite being nervous. Chelsea and Melissa R. do well. However, Melissa S. says that she thinks Chelsea needs to go. I can’t believe Robin didn’t call her out on the carpet for this. This is such a celeb no-no. Chelsea was upset and hurt by it.
Later on, she cries on the phone with her dad. He gives her some much-needed encouragement and she soldiers on.
In the end, Asia won the prize, which was the airing of her commercial nationally.
Now onto the elimination competition, Chelsea was able to hold her own with the dancing but is not where Robin feels she needs to be to be a Pussycat Doll. The other three were hot, as usual. Asia and Melissa R. did very well with their songs. Ron actually told Melissa R. that he can see her winning. She was almost flawless. Melissa S. was panned for performance and Chelsea was told that her singing wasn’t as good as it could’ve been which really surprised her.
In the end, Melissa S. was sent packing. She was very surprised that they kept Chelsea over her. Chelsea fell to the ground and wept. Next week is the finale, and I must admit I’ll be a little sad when it’s over.
Do you think Chelsea should’ve stayed over Melissa S.? Who’s gonna win the ‘coveted title’ next week? Do you care? Comment below or email me at panndyra@yahoo.com to let me know. As always, don’t forget to check out my blog at http://www.teamrt.com for more reality TV coverage with a snarky spin!
