Surreal Life Fame Games Finale – Backstabbers, Boobs and Kathy Griffin to Boot!
Watching the Surreal Life Fame Games has been an experience. Not necessarily a good one. I mean how many times can a person stare at Traci Bingham’s breasts or watch Vanilla Ice throw a temper tantrum, as entertaining as either of these things may be? I think, after watching this season, the answer is 15,345,278. That’s a lot of boobies and drama.
But that’s what makes this show so addictive. Like all addictions, we know it’s not good for us to engage in the behavior, i.e., continue to watch the show, but we do it anyway.
I was addicted to Surreal Life Fame Games and, now, I am glad to say it’s over. The season finale was last night. I feel sooooooooo free.
Of course, before I ask y’all if I can get an ‘hallelujah’, we’ll go and recap the episode just in case you care who won and why Kathy Griffin is in the title of this recap.
Rob, Pepa, Traci and Ron are thrilled to be in the final four and know that what’s in store for them next isn’t going to be pretty. Each of them has to make a commercial for GoldenPalace.net. They get some text they can mess with and a bit of time to practice. Then, they head off to the studio to do their thing.
Rob did a bit of a rap and showed some high-energy. Pepa and Ron tanked big-time. Traci wore a GoldenPalace.net t-shirt which showcased the product name perfectly. Even the dudes in the focus group picked up on it.
Rob did not win the challenge much to his chagrin. Traci came through when she needed to and earned an automatic berth to the final two. (Insert loads of bouncing and jumping here. Yay! Let’s all do the big boob shake for Traci.)
Robin the Leech then told the three remaining peons that they would vote for one of their competitors to be voted off. Pepa and Rob automatically knew they were going to vote for the other person. Ron felt stuck in the middle and…told both of them he was going to vote for the other. He even swore on his mother’s grave to Rob that he’d never vote him off. Rob took his word as his bond ‘cuz they are friends and have been since they appeared on the Surreal Life 2 together.
Ron justified his actions because he wasn’t lying to either Pepa or Rob. He planned to vote for himself and force the producers to do a tie-breaker. What Ron did not count on – the genius that he is – is that the producers would make it impossible for him to do just that? When Robin the Leech greets the contestants the following day, he hands the poker chips with the names of their opponents on them. Pepa got Ron and Rob’s chips and so on and so forth.
Ron began sweating it out which was not pretty. He made his decision and voted Rob off. This, of course, sent Rob into another tantrum. He broke a drum set and slashed his hand. He was bleeding, but he wanted Ron’s blood. He told Ron he’d never be his friend again. Ron looked like he wanted to cry, but Traci later told him that it was his own fault. He shouldn’t have lied to Rob.
Well, if this acting thing doesn’t work out, Traci could always become a motivational speaker or therapist, right? Perhaps, she could start her own suicide hotline.
After Rob’s departure, Pepa and Ron fought it out for the remaining slot. The challenge had to do with who is the most searched on Google out of the contestants from this season. Ron’s strategy was to pick a name – Andrea Lowell – and go with it ‘til her name showed up. This worked well as it provided a pretty decent elimination process. He earned three points and Pepa was left with nada.
Traci and Ron were told to wait ‘til Robin the Leech summoned them to their final challenge. Traci got dressed up and Ron sat in bed bemoaning the loss of his friend, Vanilla Ice. Robin showed up. They head to an abandoned and dirty, dark alley where Kathy Griffin awaited them. Apparently, she’s qualified enough to judge who’s a celeb and who’s not.
She subjected Ron and Traci to an inane interview on furniture that looked like it needed to be fumigated. In the end, she decided Traci was A-list enough to win the $100,000 which, of course, led to a lot of bouncing and shaking by the former Baywatch babe.
And that, my friends is a fitting end to the Surreal Life Fame Games season, isn’t it?
Don’t worry…I’m still covering The Pussycat Dolls as they search for the next doll. You can always check me out at http://www.teamrt.com too. I’d love to hear from you.
