The Two Coreys, Season Two, Premiere - A Broken Bromance

So here we are at the beginning of the second season of The Two Coreys. A season we never thought was going to happen. After the fight that ended the first season, the friendship collapsed. Haim retreated to Canada, and the Coreys haven't spoken to each other since; until tonight. Both Coreys are headed to a downtown LA deli to hash things out and talk about all that happened at the end of the last season, and all that has happened over the last six months.

First, we back up a few days to explain how they came to be meeting at this deli. Feldman meets with his manager, Scott, who breaks the news to him that not only is Haim back in Lost Boys, but Feldman is going to have to go back and re-shoot some stuff with him. Feldman finds out that on top of that, Haim is already back in LA.

We cut to LAX and see Haim returning to LA, which is where, he admits, it has all happened for him, the good and the bad. He wants to become a working actor again, and is confused as to what exactly happened between him and Feldman. He truly wants to be friends again. After a short hotel stay, Haim goes apartment hunting and, after many attempts, finally finds one that is just right.

Back at casa Feldman we see Feldman and Susie have gotten back to their normal life. This includes a quick shot of little Zen. (Yay! Zen has been released from the reality show witness relocation program! All I asked last season was a little confirmation that he existed, and he does!) Feldman confesses to Susie that not only is he having second thoughts about meeting with Haim, but whether the friendship is worth salvaging at all. Susie encourages him to think it through before he says no. Susie calls Scott and they decide Scott should meet up with Haim before Feldman does.

Haim and Scott go back and forth on why Feldman isn't there to meet with Haim himself. Haim doesn't try to hide his irritation at having to meet with Scott before he can meet with Feldman.

The next day, Feldman confronts Susie and Scott about Scott's meeting with Haim, behind his back. Scott and Susie convince Feldman to give Haim a chance, and to go meet with him before they begin shooting Lost Boys.

Before the meeting, both Coreys confess that they have no expectations or ideas about how it's going to go down. Decked out in a hoodie and shades Feldman looks like a prize fighter, while Haim keeps his headset on, looking cool and high tech. They greet with a hug, but then sit down and get right into it. The question comes out: "Are we even friends?" asks Haim. They begin daring each other about how deep they really want to go. With that the accusations begin to fly. Drugs, molestation, pretty ugly stuff. I usually like my celebreality a little lighter than this, but ok.

Feldman accuses Haim of going to the Enquirer and selling a story to them. Haim denies it, the situation escalates, and Haim takes his deli meal to go. On the way home, Haim calls Feldman and comes clean that he did in fact call the Enquirer. They both admit that the admission is a big jumping point.

Hesitantly, they decide that the next step is seeing a relationship therapist. Haim starts accusing Feldman of controlling him and telling him what to do all the time. The therapist recommends Haim paint about the sadness he feels. The issues run deep, and the therapist focuses more on Haim. The wealth of pain that she says comes off of Haim, makes her want to weep.

As poor Haim paints alone, in his lonely apartment, Feldman plays poker with Matthew Nelson, Jameson Newlander, and a few more LA buddies. Haim narrates that he was so big in the eighties, and now it's 25 years later, and so many doors are closed. Suddenly, I feel pain for Haim. He sits alone, while Feldman plays poker and lives it up with his friends and family.

What have we done America? We have let down Haim. He was Lucas dammit, and now he's out there all alone in Hollywood. If you have a conscience, you will tune in next week and support Haim in his attempt at a new career.

You can't blame me for trying... right?
