The Aftermath - Beauty And The Geek, Episode 7

The show was called “Beauty And The Geek – The Aftermath,” yet there weren't any big surprises in store. It was more-or-less a continuation of the same things we saw during the show.

The beauties, portrayed as not intelligent during the show, were not any smarter, but were wiser and more confident.

Lauren still couldn't add up a simple math problem. Yet while early in the series she told Richard he either had to swear off dating for the rest of his life, learn how to change it, or just turn gay, Lauren now tells Rirchard she would have made out with him, then follows up on the promise.

Erika, upon seeing the choice of men, came into the show searching not for a date, but for a brother type. She found that in Joe, but found herself actually falling for a different geek, Brad. She hadn't seen him since the show ended, and when she starts to tear up talking about him, it's Richard that runs over with a clean tissue pulled from his pocket.

Crystal expected big muscular athletic guys, but after spending the whole series with these so-called geeks, she says she wouldn't have traded any of them for a gorgeous guy. She still can't find South Dakota on a map unassisted.

Although Scarlet also choked on geography, she can now name all four states that start with the word "New" without batting an eye. She admits to never feeling intelligent before, but feeling much more confident now. On top of all of that, she also found a man in Chuck that she can respect and look up to.

Cheryl still isn't sure which war D-Day is from, yet she's a college student and proudly shows the audience the A she received on her history test, all written in pink ink. She believes she takes everything much more seriously now.

Mindi embodied the perfect partner during the show, to the point of actually giving Richard his first spooning, just in case they got eliminated one night. Yet it's Shawn she is most proud of, for keeping up with his makeover look and gaining so much more confidence.

Winner Caitilin says if she'd known what she was in store for, she would have thrown her car in reverse, yet she certainly isn't complaining about her winning share of a quarter of a million dollars. She's going to buy new cowboy boots, take her parents out to dinner and invest the rest.

The geeks, portrayed as intelligent but lacking self esteem with women, left the show not as total studs, but having gained so much more confidence in their abilities to attract women.

Joe's first thought when he saw Erika was, "Woah, she's hot!" His second thought was the same, and so was his third and fourth! He has heard that there was a drinking game that every time he blushed, someone was supposed to take a drink. He figures there are some people that ended up with alcohol poisoning.

After Joe and Erika were eliminated his life picked up. He and Erika went out to bars, and all the guys would hit on her. Since they had a brother and sister type of relationship, they would buy him a drink too. Host Bryan McFadden says that all the women in his family are in love with Joe. He notes he's been getting phone numbers, and he didn't even have to pretend he was gay, a direct slam to Chuck. He's quite the funny guy as he offers to put his virginity up on Ebay. A women in the audience even stands up and tells him she fell in love with him during the show and asks to go out with him. He accepts.

Bill came into Beauty And The Geek with his claim to fame being that he was the Vice President of the Dukes of Hazard Fan Club. It's definitely helped him with the ladies, as after the show he accepted an offer to be a celebrity judge at a Daisy Duke contest. He admits to gaining confidence through the process.

Shawn actually made some connections on the night they were asked to get women's phone numbers. As he was leaving a group of people he had been talking to that night, he asked one of the women for her phone number. Not only did she give it to him, but it was her real number! They have gotten together a few times since the show ended. He says his best pick up line is, "Hi, I'm Shawn. What's you name?" Better than Richard's line of, "Do you like garlic?"

Brad was very quiet during the show. But once Erika asked for a long-awaited hug, not seeing him since the end of the show, Brad wasted no time in accommodating her. It looked very genuine.

When Richard entered the house, Lauren's first impression was that he looked like the white Urkel. He had never kissed any women, and left the show having kissed three. His brother is in the audience and assures everyone he's always been excitable, and says he used to be a lot more so. Since the show he has been asked out on a lunch date, and when Richard is asked Mindi's middle name, after missing it as the final question of the finale, Mindi tells him if he gets it right she'll make out with him, just as she did before the finale. To her surprise, he remembers it's Nicole, and she obliges.

Chuck, half of the winning team, didn't realize he'd be portrayed as a geek when he came on the show. On his first night in the house, he got a nose bleed and blamed the smoke in the room for it bringing out the mucous, that and the fact that the stress is running him largely hypertensive. That's a doctor for you. He saw his romance with Scarlet as a summer camp type of thing, and knows it wasn't going to head towards marriage, but says it was genuine. He plans to prove he is as boring as he looked on TV, by using his winnings to pay off his student loans.

Some of these people ended up hooking up, and the others gained so much more wisdom about themselves. The women learned acceptance for their mind and abilities and the men learned that beautiful women weren't beyond their reach. It seems this show has touched all their lives in some way, despite it not being what any of them had expected.
