Jim Gets Bounced, The Real Gilligan's Island 2, Episode 5
by Grant

The beginning of this week's episode focuses entirely on Mary Ann Randi. Whereas before she won her competition to become the sole Mary Ann, nobody really seemed to care about her, but now that she has become the swing vote in the end game everyone seems to be clamoring for her affections. The men of team orange all come in to solidify that Mary Ann Randi is going to stick with them in the vote-off process and how, according to Millionaire Jim, that's the only way she can reach the final two (yeah, right!).

Randi agrees with Jim to his face, but in confessional explains that she is keeping her options open and making sure not to corner herself somewhere she doesn't want to be. After the team orange men have left Randi, Erika makes her way over Randi and explains that if she sticks with the three of the men she's guaranteed fourth place. Erika continues to prove that she's got a head for strategy by pointing out that if Randi decides to side with the green team for at least one vote, even if Randi wants to switch back with the men it'll still move her up to third place instead of fourth. Randi doesn't agree to anything, but takes time to consider Erika's words. In confessional, Randi explains that she's willing to do whatever it takes to get her the farthest in the competition and if that means turning her back on Tiy-E, Shawn and Jim, she's more than willing to do it.

Later that day, the radio informs the castaways that they will be competing in a reward challenge at the beach. Once there, Host Scott informs the contestants that there are (literally) hundreds of bottles scattered along the beach and in the ocean, all of them containing slips of paper. In ONE of the bottles is a slip of paper with a note on it. Their goal is to find the bottle with the note in it. Eventually it's Mrs. Millionaire Melissa that finds the winning bottle. Host Scott informs her that she's won a pizza dinner for two, and she can chose to take one other castaway with her on her date. She explains that, being diabetic, Gilligan Shawn needs the food the most.

At the Reward dinner, Ms. Melissa and Gilligan Shawn seem to be hitting it off quite well. They discuss the events of the island as well as Shawn's diabetes. Any sympathy Shawn may have built up in the scene where he has to test his blood sugar level is completely lost, however, as he explains that the real reason he thinks Ms. Melissa chose him to go on a date with her is because she wanted to get lucky. After returning from dinner with Ms. Melissa, Shawn continues to piss his fellow castaways off by informing Skipper Charlie that he'd better have his bags packed after the safety competition tomorrow because he is the one everyone intends to send home. Before giving Skipper Charlie the chance to reply Shawn darts off for bed.

The next day at the individual safety competition, the castaways find out they'll be participating in an obstacle course consisting of swinging, paddling and climbing for a chance to win the life preserver that grants them immunity at Voodoo Village. Since Tiy-E doesn't want to jump off the cliff and into the water, he decides to sit the competition out. Skipper Charlie, knowing that his ass is on the line, easily beats everyone else's time on the obstacle course until Ms. Melissa takes the course. In confessional Melissa explains that she thought she'd have an advantage on the paddling because she does that quite a bit in her everyday life. Melissa floats across the course and meets Host Scott at the finish line in what seems to be the quickest time. Host Scott announces that Ms. Melissa, although one of the quickest, loses out on the life preserver to Skipper Charlie by three seconds.

At Voodoo Village, all the tension seems to fall on Mary Ann Randi's shoulders. Everyone has made it clear where their votes stand now that Skipper Charlie won the life preserver, and although three votes are cast for Ms. Melissa, Randi surprises her former orange team mates by casting the deciding vote against Mr. Millionaire Jim, eliminating him from the competition.

In his final words, Millionaire Jim explains "Absolutely I feel betrayed. It's a chess game and obviously someone plays a little better than I do." The episode ends as Jim walks out the gates of Voodoo Village. On his way to the other side of the island he is met by his wife, Mrs. Millionaire Donna, who explains that while Jim was gone she has “been so horny!”
