Vows and Tears - Britney and Kevin: Chaotic, Season Finale (Thank Goodness)by Chloe
Back in L.A., Kevin and Britney plan a huge wedding to be held at the Bacara Hotel. However, the paparazzi ferret out the secret date and time, and then splash it all over the papers. Britney is upset; she wants her big wedding and she wants it to be a secret.
The mother and daughter catering team ride to the rescue! They offer the pop princess and her prince the use of their home, to which they quickly agree. When Britney arrives for the big event, she discovers the home has been showered with flowers and flickering candles. The backyard has been enclosed by a huge tent and completely furnished with dining tables, linens and lamplight. How utterly romantic! Britney and her entourage hurry upstairs to begin dressing. Later, Kevin arrives with his fellow mates.
Eventually the guests begin to trickle in and are under the misguided idea that they are there to attend Britney and Kevin’s engagement party. It’s not until they are given sequin and pearl encrusted invitations, that they realize they’re actually attending the WEDDING! Mom didn’t know. Dad didn’t know. Baby sis didn’t know. Even Britney’s makeup girl didn’t know! Gasp!
Many screams of surprise and hugs later, the bridesmaids join Britney upstairs to dress in gowns they’ve never seen before and ready themselves for the event. Next follow many shots of them dressing, laughing and constantly saying, “I can’t believe you kept it a secret!” Even though Britney dresses grunge/sleazy normally, she chose a very traditional white gown for her wedding. And yes, Britney finally finds a brush for her locks. Thank you, girlfriend!
After interviews with the maid of honor (cousin) and best man (friend with long history together), the music swells and the ceremony begins. I must admit, I was a sucker for the romance of the moment.
Britney walks down the stairs and is joined by her dad (who doesn’t seem too keen about the marriage). Dad leaves her with Kevin and they say their vows. We don’t hear the actual words, but we can see the room is filled with emotion. There were a few trembling lips and tears mixed in with the ceremony. Mom got weepy, as well as Kevin and Britney. The deal is sealed with a kiss and Britney hustles back upstairs to change into the shortest dress she could find. It was still white, though.
Before the festivities begin, the bridal bouquet is thrown and caught by a giggling Felicia, Britney’s personal assistant. The removal of the bridal garter was accomplished by Kevin’s teeth in a seductive display that had everyone screaming with excitement.
After the wedding dinner, tearful toasts and many, many pictures later, the crowd changed into their party clothes. Dressed in outfits that proclaimed them as “The Maids, Hot Mammas and The Pimps”, they all went dancing.
To wrap up the series, Britney and Kevin discuss life after the wedding. Britney says they take each day as it comes and realize that sharing your life with someone changes everything.
Before running Britney’s new video, “Someday”, which is about motherhood, Kevin delivers a special message for Britney. Tears come to his eyes and he chokes up, as he tells her how much he loves her and their baby.
