Sleeping with the Fishes - Growing Up Gotti Season 2, Episode 15
Posted on Mon 25 Apr 2005 (2484 reads)
Victoria isn’t the only one who is trying to find a man, her sister Angel is too. Victoria has decided to help her sister try to find a man through a “hurry” dating program where she would get to meet several men for a few minutes and then decide if she wants any of them.

Meanwhile, Frankie wants to learn to fish and Uncle Pete has planned another one of his excursions to teach Frankie. This should be interesting.

Angel is supposed to go to the Speed dating course with the support of Victoria and Robert to give their professional opinions on the men she will choose from. I did not catch the first couple of daters (shower took a little longer than I expected) but I came just in time to catch the last one. His name is Henry and he is a Venezuelan security officer. Angel seemed interested in him.

The fishing trip is coming soon and Luigi, who is also going, is asking John if he is going and John says he’s a big boy and he’s not going anywhere. Carmine comments that he likes fishing for girls, and I’m sure for them fishing for girls is like fishing from a bucket.

It is the break of dawn and Uncle Pete and his friends are over at the Gotti house getting Frankie to wake up. They get in the car and on their way to go fishing. When they arrived everyone looked drained from the nap they took in the car and as soon as they got on the boat Uncle Pete was taking bets on who is going to get sick first.

The next day Angel came over to Victoria’s house to see if she’s call Henry. She says that she really liked him and that out of all the guys that she met that night he was the most spontaneous (after that comment I’m really glad I didn’t see the first ones). Angel is nervous but decides to call Henry and after a couple of silent and awkward pauses he asks her out to go bowling. He also mentions that he hasn’t had a date in ten years! Victoria says he hasn’t had a date since she was a brunette.

Back on the boat poor Luigi was having no luck while others were catching lots of fish. I was surprised at how easily they were catching them. Meanwhile, while everyone was catching fish, Frankie was talking on his phone. After catching a couple of fish Uncle Pete decides to mess with Chubby who is sleeping inside the boat by pretending that a caught fish was Chubby’s girlfriend (poor Chubby), but after a while all the crew members were a sleep. I guess the motion of the ocean really got to them.

It is the day of Angel’s date and Victoria and Robert accompany her, for what reason I don’t know. They arrive and it takes forever for Henry to show up. Victoria informs us that no one keeps a Gotti girl waiting. After finally showing up, Victoria begins to interrogate Henry asking him all kinds of questions, she is a journalist after all. Henry mentions that he has a son in Baghdad and that he got a divorce after he caught his wife in the act (yeah you know which one I’m talking about). I actually began feeling sorry for the guy at this point.

When Victoria and Robert step out for a minute Henry tells Angel how he disliked Victoria’s grilling and that maybe they should go out alone. Angel seemed to like him and there might be a second date.

On the fishing trip, it is time to clean the fish they have caught and Frankie immediately refuses to cut the fish. I would too, it looked disgusting, but Luigi, being the handy man that he is offered to do it.

The boys finally get home and Uncle Pete explains to Victoria that the fishing trip was mostly sleeping and throwing up, which does not surprise Victoria. After all her boy is a sleeper.

After Angels dating fiasco will Henry be sleeping with the fishes? We’ll just have to wait for the second date.
