The Man in Her Comes Out - Surreal Life 6, Episode 4
by Tracy Rose
Nerves continue to get the better of the Surreal Life cast as they get ready for their debut live newscast. Somehow Sherman ditches his nerves just long enough to take a nap before he goes on though.
Flo does an excellent job as an anchor and has written her own lines, which turn out really well. Sherman has a timing problem with the clicker during the weather report, but he is able to laugh at himself. He is relieved it is over. CC is proud to get through the stress without a drink. He found the experience to be great and it was his first time working sober. He was funny to watch during his boxing matches for the sports report.
Alexis gains more respect from her team by doing a great job as the executive producer.
Andrea pulled off her segment at the winery even though she was tipsy at the time. The only one who really had trouble was Tawney. She stumbled thought the report and had a difficult time finding her words but to top it off, Flo asks her a question about the cost of the weathervane that completely throws her off. She announces that the missing item cost $500.00 and that they have temporarily replaced it. Flo asks her how much the new item is worth and after much stalling and stumbling, Tawney finally admits that it is only $2.00. She is upset at Flo for throwing her a curveball.
The cast wants to blow off some steam after the production and they decide it is time to party. They go to the Mission Grille. This is where problems arise for Alexis. She says that the most frustrating thing is that people feel the need to tell her she’s a transgender once they figure it out. But some comments are made at the bar about her being a guy. She gets upset and curses a lot. Steve says, “Her guy face came out.”
CC and Steve decide to go home because they have changed their lives and aren’t into the drinking scene anymore.
Alexis meets a guy that she is really into and they start kissing when someone yells out “Take him home; he has a penis too.” She confronts them and Maven gets involved because he is set off by the disrespect.
Alexis grabs an umbrella and continues to curse and moon the guys in the bar. She responds to the disrespect with violence. The positive that comes from the situation though is that she now realizes that the cast has become a close-knit family. They have her back and they have much more respect for her and her lifestyle now. She finds that reassuring.
