Next Stop Broadway - Nashville Star 4, Episode 3
by Orion Mitchell

Side affects may include, headache, diarrhea, gas, or constipation ... no that's not from listening to Wynonna for an hour, it's from Prilosec - proud sponser of Nashville Star 4 Episode 3. Yes folks, the competition is really heating up; new hats, new hair and a whole lot of moxie. 'Cause to make it in the country music biz (I can say biz 'cause I'm cool) you need lots of moxie, a little gumption and a severe drinking problem that will ruin your life just in time for you to pull it back together and do a reunion tour. The circle of life.

The judges (aka the people who don't criticize/judge anyone): Phil Vassar, Anastasia Brown, and, of WWE fame, John Cena.

The one and only country legend, Kenny Rogers, kicks off the show with the song "Islands in the Stream". Wynonna states that she had one on ones with each contestant. So before each contestant performs we get to see some gritty one on one time they spent with Wynnona.

Jared Ashley Song: Somebody Like You
Judges liked his act, but you can tell Anastasia doesn't like him. She stated, "I thought you were going to crash and burn, but you didn't". And this was a compliment. Rating: Fudge Ripple.

Melanie Torres Song: Crying
Do you think she is hot? I think she is hot. Do you think she can sing? Who cares - do you think she is hot? Phil and Anastatsia both tried to stay away from the beauty comments and said she sang wonderfully. Unlike in the ring John Cena wasn't pulling any punches and said she was as hot as any WWE Diva.

Casey Rivers Song: Your Cheatin' Heart
Can't say a bad thing about this guy's performance. He did an acoustic set by himself. I don't even like this song very much but he did a great job.

Kristen McNamara Song: This One's for the Girls
This one's for the birds, please vote her off. Yodeling, the horse pasture, dyed hair, and hearing how goofy she is are just some of the reasons I want her gone. Anastasia liked her performance and Phil (Anastasia's Hand Puppet) Vassar liked her as well. John Cena said, "You got a good look and there's no doubt you and everybody up there can sing, but if you are going to get up there and sing for the girls I got to believe, and to be honest I didn't believe it." I don't believe it; a professional wrestler accurately critiqued that perfomance. She was not that great.

Chris Young Song: Don't Close your Eyes
A brand new hat and no song about drinking. Where is the Chris Young I fell in love with? Great set. Anastatsia said Casey took a bigger gamble and then threw math in Chris Young's face. Other judges really liked his set and I liked it as well.

Nicole Jamrose Song: Can't Let Go
How far can a cool last name get you? Apparently into the next round. Everyone said she rocked. Anastasia "Nellied" her by saying it was getting hot in here. I still felt cold and unemotional after her performance.

It's now down to Monique and Matt ... one will go home, and the other will perform. This week's eliminee is ...

Monique LeCompte
I think Monique summed it up the best when Wynonna asked if she had something to say to the people who voted for her. Monique: "You should have called more, what the hell?" That's right; she had the best voice and you guys didn't vote for her. Me? Well, uh, I couldn't vote for her because well, I have to stay impartial.

Matt Mason Song: The Ride
Had another great performance and looks like the man to beat.

Kenny Rogers ended the show with "I Can't Unlove You".
