Gervase Sez: Focus! - Battle of the Network Reality Stars, Episode 2
by atarus

The episode starts off with all the teams being introduced again. After that, we get a glimpse of each team. Team Gervase hates Jonathan, as both Mike Boogie and Brittany rag on him for being too obnoxious and thinking he's good at everything. On Team Miz, Mirna is afraid she'll be the next to be voted out because her sister was the first target, but Miz says that all she needs is confidence and to step up and she'll be fine. Charla is enjoyin herself on Team Coral, and on Team Chip, Dr. Will states that "the best thing about my team is that we're united."

The first event is Simon Sez. Gervase gives advice, he says Listen, Focus, and not to have A.D.D. Also, the teams are watching Melissa from Team Coral, because she won the Real World version of Simon Sez.

The game is afoot, and we have a special guest referee, Jimmy Walker, J.J. from Good Times! And the game begins. Very quickly, Team Gervase and Team Miz take hits, as Victoria, Wendy, Chris, Mirna, and Bradford are out fast. (Funny thing...Chris and Bradford, two guys from The Apprentice, can't follow directions well....I wonder why The Donald fired them?) Melissa is out next, and says that "I have to blame everybody but myself" and gets in a few digs on Jimmy Walker. Mike Boogie is the last Team Gervase member standing, but he falters and their team gets fourth place and 25 points.

There's a break in the action, and Omarosa interviews King Richard himself. She asks him if he ever thought reality TV would get so big, and he says he knew it'd be interesting from a physical interaction standpoint. Now it is back to the Simon Sez game. People are falling out left and right, and Average Joe Adam ends up the only person on Team Coral left. He manages to outlast The Miz and Sue Hawk, but eventually ends up losing and Team Coral gets third place and 50 points. The final two standing are Hatch for Team Miz and Nikki McKibbin from Team Chip. The two face-off, and Richard pulls a...well..a Richard manuever and moons Nikki. Apparently his manuever destroys her concentration, as she messes up first and Richard wins the competition for his team.

The second event is dodgeball. Nikki states that her team's strategy is to have the girls pick up the balls and give them to the guys. Before the match begins, the big targets are Miz, Hatch, Evan, and Theo. The first matches are Team Gervase vs. Team Coral and Team Miz vs. Team Chip. Team Gervase gets Team Coral down to just Coral, but Coral catches a ball, brings Will Wikle back in, and the two of them take down the other two to give the win to Team Coral. In the other match, Team Chip destroys Team Miz as Dr. Will catches three of the balls thrown at him, and Joe Schmo himself gets the final K.O. to send them to the final match.

In the consolation match, Team Gervase beats Team Miz. But the main event gets interesting. Adam says that he doesn't underestimate Brian because you "never underestimate an Average Joe." Truer words have never been spoken, as while Team Chip dominates Team Coral and gets it down to 4 on 1, Adam is the last man standing for Team Coral. He manages to catch a ball to bring back Evan, but sadly Evan is gunned down and Theo makes the final blow to knock out Adam. Team Chip wins the dodgeball tournament and gets 100 points! When asked why he was so successful at dodgeball, Theo simply states "I grew up in a family with a lot of balls."

It's time for the final event, the swimming relay. It consists of five members from each team. The first four members swim 25 meters, and the fifth swimmer and anchor does 50 meters. They get the "reality TV queen" Darva Conger to blow the whistle to start the race. (Since when has she been the queen?) Anyway, the race starts and Burton takes the lead for Team Miz, Victoria is in second for Team Gervase, Chip is in third for Team Chip, and Melissa is last for Team Coral. By the time Mirna, Brittany, and Susan take on the second lap for their respective teams, Melissa is a little over halfway done and Team Coral has basically been guaranteed last place in the relay. The battle becomes for first as Team Chip maintains a steady third, but Team Miz and Team Gervase jockey back and forth, as Tina Fabulous passes Richard Hatch, and Jonathan keeps a tiny lead over Ryan Starr. But in the anchor leg, Mike Miz blows away Mike Boogie, and Team Miz scores another first place, Team Gervase gets second, Dr. Will finishes third for Team Chip, and Will Wikle brings up the rear for Team Coral. (The anchor legs were Mike-Mike-Will-Will. Isn't that interesting?)

Team Gervase and Team Coral tie for third place with 150 points, but because Team Gervase did better in the last competition, Team Coral is last place, which means they have to vote out two of their members.

The discussion is pretty straightforward. Charla volunteers to go since she backed out of swimming and put Melissa in a spot. Duncan also volunteers to go for team harmony and he says he's had fun. The only hiccup is when Evan suggests that Duncan will be good at trivia, so keeping him might be good, but in the end it's Charla and Duncan who are voted out.

However, there's a twist. Team Miz, the team with the most points this time, gets to play God. Two new reality contestants are joining the group to replace the departed Charla and Duncan. Miz gets to choose whether to give Team Coral two people from their own team and get the two new contestants, take two people from Team Gervase or Team Chip and give them to Team Coral and have that team get the two newbies, or just give the two newbies to Team Coral.

In the discussion group, they agree that they are a cohesive team and shouldn't split themselves up. Miz suggests that breaking a team up and two new people ruins a team dynamic. Team Coral is already getting that, so why not break up either Team Chip or Team Gervase.

When asked for their decision, The Miz says that they haven't viewed the red team as a threat, so they've decided to take Gervase and Tina Fabulous off of Team Gervase and give them to Team Coral. Team Gervase looks devastated. Mike Boogie says that the strategy was genius, as they lost their spirit, their skills, and their cohesiveness. The two new contestants? Jerri Manthey from Survivor and David Daskal from Average Joe. Chris is upset, as he says they lost their strength and got a female and Howard Stern. He's going to be gunning for Miz for the rest of the competition.

Next week, if I heard correctly, it seems that an entire team is going to be eliminated. Rut roh! What will happen to Team Gervase, aside from the fact that they need a new name and a new team captain? Will everybody start resenting Team Miz? We'll find out next week! Sayonara!
