Ding, Dong, Jenny’s Gone!! - Big Brother 6, 8-20-05 by Syrone Harvey
Big Brother 6 starts off with a look back at Thursday’ competition, with Kaysar’s disappointing departure (again) and Janelle’s surprising HOH win. Janelle and Howie took great pleasure in driving the Friendship Alliance completely nuts. After the dust settled, Janelle made her nominations for eviction. To no surprise, Maggie and Jennifer were put on the block. James once again escapes being put up for eviction.
Howie and Janelle embark on their own personal tirade against Team Friendship, mainly targeting April and Jennifer with verbal insults and enough cuss words to make a sailor blush. (Howie even insults April’s husband, and her little pooch, Pepperoni.)
Rachel, the calming force of the Sovereign 4, tries to convince Howie to just “let it go” and focus on playing the game. Meanwhile, James and Ivette hold a secret powwow to discuss the evictions. April and Jennifer are crouched behind a couch whispering about not being able to trust anyone, even within their own group.
The Veto Competition rolls around. Janelle chooses Howie, Jennifer selects April and Maggie chooses Ivette to be each of their veto partners. The houseguests walk outside and discover a huge ice hockey rink has been set up. Lined up on the rink are six large pictures of each of the remaining houseguests. The pictures all have holes where their mouths should be. (Pretty ingenious) The goal of the competition is for the houseguests to hit a puck into each of the six holes within the shortest amount of time.
Up first is Howie who wants POV so bad he can almost taste it. He sinks the pucks into the holes with a time of 2:41. April (Busto) is up next, and shockingly beats Howie’s time with 2:33. Janelle follows April and ends up with the best time of 1:45. The other houseguests continue to compete but no one exceeds Janelle’s time. Janelle wins the POV. She has all kinds of hidden talent.
The Friendship Alliance is shocked at Janelle’s win. They already expect she’ll keep the POV instead of using it. James approaches Janelle. He is out to avenge Sarah. He wants Janelle to take Jennifer off the block to insure Maggie’s eviction. Finally they agree to target Jennifer first and then aim for Maggie the following week. During the POV ceremony Janelle stuns everyone by taking Maggie off the block and putting Ivette up in her place. Maggie is left speechless and her mouth hanging open. Janelle simply explains that her decision was a strategic move. James as usual eavesdrops on the Friendship then reports back to the Sovereign team.
As the Friendship gets together, Maggie apologizes for being taken off the block. As they ponder the turn of events they realize both partner groups are now at risk of being split up, regardless of either Ivette or Jennifer being evicted.
Julie gathers the houseguests for the Eviction Ceremony. First, Jennifer and Ivette plead their case. They thank the Friendship for their support. One by one the houseguests enter the DR to vote. Beau is the first one to cast his vote and nominates Jennifer for eviction. After each of the houseguests vote, everyone but April has voted for Jennifer’s eviction. Jennifer walks out of the house looking pretty smug. Julie asks why Janelle was so out to get her. Jennifer plays clueless and says Janelle just has a personal thing against her. (Could it be the countless lies you’ve told, Jenny?) She has delusions that she sacrificed herself for the sake of her team. She’s the first to be sequestered for the final Big Brother 6 vote.
The Friendship Alliance is nervous about the HOH competition and is even more determined to win. They are gunning to take out the Sovereign 4, (3 ½ if you include James) The HOH Competition is called, “On the House”. The houseguests will be asked 10 questions. Each correct answer is worth one point and an incorrect answer will send a competitor out of the game. The first question is answered correctly by Beau. Ivette answers the next question correctly. Unfortunately Howie answers incorrectly, booting him out of the game. Finally, Ivette, Rachel, and then April are ousted out of the game, leaving James and Beau tied 2 to 2. The tie breaker question is: How many puzzle pieces are on the wall? Beau answers 4, and wins with a correct answer. Beau is the new HOH. As the show ends, The Sovereign group are kicking themselves for getting the questions wrong. Oh well, you’ll get them next time…we hope.
