Big Brother 6 Live Feeds, July 24th – We Have Morals! We Have Morals!
by Carrie

Warning: this article contains spoilers.

Eric and Maggie have morals, or so they keep telling everyone who will listen. And if, by morals, they mean a holier-than-thou attitude and a somewhat delusional and hypocritical vision of themselves and how they play the game, then yes, they do indeed have morals. Scads of them.

But maybe I should take the high road here; take a page from Kaysar's book and try not to be too nasty. There's more to Big Brother than cutting up Eric and Maggie. There's April too! But seriously, let's see if we can get through this feed recap without the sarcasm and petty shots at anyone's character. It won't be easy, but here goes.

Rachel is out of bed first, and she spends some quality time with the treadmill. She's talking to herself; either preparing what she will say to someone later, or trying to figure out where everyone stands in the house and how she can work things to keep herself safe with both sides.

Maggie gets up next and goes right to Rachel. She's obviously been stewing about what's gone down in the house over the past few days, and says that she's disappointed in the recent turn of events. She wanted to play the game with honest people, and can't understand how one person can control the game. (must ... resist ... sarcasm ...) Maggie says that it appears Rachel was in on it all, but she won't rush to judgment since she doesn't know exactly how everything went down.

Maggie says that she always thought Rachel had a crush on James. Rachel denies this. Maggie goes on for a while about what she will do if Eric leaves; she doesn't know how she can go on in the house with those who don't play fair. (geez, this is harder than I thought.) Rachel says that, when Howie and James hooked up with Kaysar, she and Sarah had to go with them. Maggie asks Rachel to vote for her instead of Eric, but Rachel will make no promises.

Eric wakes up, and he's anxious to share with Maggie what he's learned about April/Jennifer and Ivette/Beau. He mentions that they both admitted that they are actually pairs, although Ivette insists that she and Beau don't actually know each other – they were just put together because they're minorities and gay. Maggie says that she knew Ivette was gay, because she can read people.

Slowly the others start to emerge. April comes up with a plan that she thinks is brilliant – she wants to work with Jenny to convince Rachel to vote for Maggie as a "sympathy" vote; meanwhile, April and Jenny will also vote for Maggie, thereby eliminating her and saving Cappy. For some reason she thinks this will work.

April decides to talk with Kaysar and ask about her place within his alliance. She wants to know if, after the others have been evicted, she and Jennifer are the first ones to be targeted. Kaysar is honest and says yes, that's the plan. He tries to explain that he didn't try to recruit her for her, he was simply trying to bring in the people that the larger alliance were targeting themselves. April doesn't seem to have any understanding of this process.

Eric and Maggie meet up, and Maggie says that she's trying to sacrifice herself to save him. She doesn't want to be there without him. Eric says that he was a good leader, and that people flocked to him because he was honest. (okay, this no-sarcasm rule is starting to erode now.)

Maggie and Ivette double up and try to pressure Rachel into admitting that the veto comp was thrown for James to win. Rachel doesn't budge and admits to nothing, so Mags and Ivette decide to whine and moan about how the competition was obviously rigged to favour the "underdogs".

April is in the pool, and for some reason (maybe because she didn't get her Xanax the other night – yeah, I said it) she starts to cry. She doesn't want to continue living with Kaysar, Janelle, and James even for $500,000. She could get fired from her job if she does things that are dishonest in the house.

The Decapinators discuss previous seasons of Big Brother, and all agree that they couldn't stand the twins last season. I knew I liked this group, and they just keep proving how smart they are.

Most of the hamsters start talking about Ivette's sexual experiences, and of course Howie is front and centre here. Eric is very into the conversation as well. Somehow the topic changes to Maggie's boss back in Las Vegas, and Eric doesn't seem to like the guy much. Why? Because, he says, "I just don't appreciate people who are arrogant." (ahhhh! I can't take it any more! My head is going to explode! Eric, you're arrogant, you idiot! You're arrogant and hypocritical and you have no idea what is going on around you! So there!)

April is still badgering Kaysar, trying to figure out why he chose the people he did to align himself with. She wants to know why James and not Eric. When Kaysar says that Eric has been against him for a couple of weeks now, April says that she isn't against him – she actually likes him. Kaysar has the patience of a saint, and keeps trying to explain the difference between liking someone and trusting them strategically. He says that April would have voted for him if that's what Eric wanted, even if she liked him. But she still doesn't understand. Give up Kaysar, honey. This just isn't worth the time or effort.

James makes a snide comment to April in the kitchen, and that sets April off again. She rants about how much she hates James, wants him out of the house. It appears that James claiming he was "the new Michael" the other day is coming true in certain ways, at least where April is concerned. She wants to go home and be with her husband, rather than face the possibility of spending the rest of the summer in the sequester house with James. What is with all of these people assuming they're going to the sequester house? Keep your eyes on the prize, for heaven's sake!

It's Sarah's birthday, and Kaysar calls everyone into the living room for a surprise. There's cake and pizza, decorations, party hats, and a birthday card for Sarah from her nieces. She also gets a gift basket from Big Brother, full of nail polish, lotion, and other little goodies. Their food restrictions have been lifted until midnight in honour of Sarah's birthday.

April once again corners Kaysar and tells him how much she doesn't trust James. She will keep her promises to everyone, but not him. Kaysar again is very patient, even going so far as to say that he will keep an eye on James, but April, as usual, cannot seem to stop talking, repeating the same things over and over. Kaysar should have been wearing his "Department of Redundancy Department" shirt, 'cause that's what he was facing today with April.

April says that Kaysar needs to swap James with Eric so that their alliance has more honour and moral value. At this point I'm not sure how Kaysar keeps from grabbing April and smacking her, but somehow he pulls this off and says that Eric is a strong leader, and he has to go.

Maggie and Eric continue to be joined at the hip, talking about how much integrity and honour they have. Here's a thought guys; if you actually have so much integrity and morality, should you have to keep telling everyone that you do? Eric is angry that James was wearing his hat during the veto comp, when he knew that the plan was to screw him over. Talk about petty. Maggie says that if they want an honest person in the house, then they will keep her around and not take James off the block. Riiight.

April walks by and Eric wants to know how her conversation with Kaysar went. I hope Kaysar doesn't honestly trust April, because no matter how much she swears that she's being honest (and that's a lot, trust me), she's lying through her teeth. So much for the morality bunch.

Ivette and James have a discussion in the gold room. Ivette is still angry, of course, that James sold them out. James is indignant (and rightfully so) that they all turned their backs on him and were ready to evict him – he has to do something to save himself. Ivette isn't buying it though, and James responds with a heated "Don't get mad at me because your plan to stab me in the back backfired!" James points out that Eric has lied and gone back on his word several times, but everyone seems willing to overlook that. Janelle is listening to this conversation at the door, undetected.

April joins in and starts ranting at James, yelling about how honest and moral she is and how he is the total opposite. She says that she doesn't need the money, so James points and says "good – there's the door". April starts to cry (again) and exclaims that they were all once friends, and now look at them! When she brings up her morals for the 9145th time today, James calls her out. "Give me an example of playing with morals! You exaggerated bullshit about Michael and now he's gone!" She leaves the room, presumably to chain smoke and cry like a baby.

Eric tells Maggie that he will leave her his fire department clothes, and that she should wear them often to remind everyone of him. Can you believe this guy? Honestly, how vain and delusional can one person be. Not to mention the fact that he's making his 'partner' a walking target that way.

Maggie and April spend some time cutting up everyone in Kaysar's alliance. It's funny how Maggie keeps saying that she's honest and good, but she'll grab any opportunity to toot her own horn and cut the others up. They imagine that the worst case scenario would be James and Janelle in the final two, and having to decide who to vote for.

Maggie and the others want to form a protective circle around Eric when he leaves on Thursday, so that the 'evil' people can't hug him or say goodbye. The class of these idiots never ceases to amaze me. How you can keep going on and on about what a good person you are, and then not even have the good sense to say goodbye to someone when they leave, or let everyone else say their goodbyes, is way beyond me. I must be evil.

Kaysar brings his hookah pipe into the backyard and starts setting it up. April can't believe that it's not something illegal, and looks at it like it'll jump out and bite her surgically enhanced ass any minute.

Things start to calm down now, with small groups branching off and discussing the events of the day before getting ready for bed. I'll leave you with a quote from Kaysar, who has shown that he isn't completely above making negative comments towards people – and frankly, in that house, who can blame him. "They have power, they're assholes. They don't have power, they're assholes." Yes Kaysar, yes.
