What’s Hot on TV Tonight – The Voice and The X Factor

I really hate to say this, as I've been a longtime American Idol fan and always defend it against all criticism. However, lately I've been enjoying The Voice and even Simon Cowell's The X Factor a little more. Idol is the Daddy of all these singing shows, but with the cast changes this upcoming season, The X Factor and The Voice just might leave it in the dust. Both these shows are on tonight, and I'm DVRing both. Check out your other favorite shows at TV-Links.

1. The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Russell Brand and Bethenny Frankel are the guests. Syndicated, check local listings.

2. Survivor: Philippines. A brutally honest conversation brings a surprising revelation at tribal council. 7:00 PM CT CBS

3. The Voice. Part 2 of the the top 20 live performances. 7:00 PM CT NBC

4. The Middle. Frankie doesn't make a good impression on her first day of dental asst. school, Mike and Frankie want Axl to get a tutor to help his grades, and Sue and Brick try to pawn a found item. 7:00 PM CT ABC

5. Arrow. Oliver gets arrested for murder and will only accept Laurel as his lawyer, and during a lie detector test, Det. Lance asks Oliver at the time he spent on the island 7:00 PM CT CW

6. The X Factor. The top twelve acts perform. 7:00 PM CT Fox

7. The Neighbors. Debbie and Marty discover more about alien love when the Zabvronian mating season starts, and a cute jock asks Amber to a makeout party. 7:30 PM CT ABC

8. Criminal Minds. The team looks for a killer in Miami who went from slaying animals to murdering prostitutes, and Morgan asks Reid to join the bureau's softball team. 8:00 PM CT CBS

9. Modern Family. Cameron watching Alex and Luke when Phil, Claire, and Mitchell are busy dealing with Haley's arrest, Jay tries to to cut Dede's surprise visit short so she doesn't find out Gloria is pregnant. 8:00 PM CT ABC

10. Supernatural. Dean and Sam start investigating a murder and find out GArth is already on the case, and the guys search for an avenging ghost. 8:00 PM CT CW

11. Ghost Hunters. The team heads to Hampton Falls to check out the Governor's Mansion where a young boy who lived there died in the late 1800s. 8:00 PM CT Syfy

12. Life After Top Chef. Fabio has his eyes set on green when he meets a beverage vendor to create his own martini drink line, and forgets to order enough food for his charity dinner leaving guests very hungry and irritated. Spike is back in DC looking for a new bistro, only to have his parents derail his dreams. Later on, Jen decides to launch a pop-up restaurant and woo investors, but will it get her career back on track? 8:00 PM CT Bravo

13. Toy Hunter. Jordan Hembrough travels to galaxies far, far away, in hopes of stocking up his Star Wars figurines and Star Trek action figures inventory. 8:00 PM CT Travel Channel

17. The Houstons Remember Whitney. In the first half hour, Pat takes Krissy out of town on a ladies' weekend, and Gary and Ray teach responsibility to Nick. In the second half hour, Pat takes the family to L.S. for a BET tribute to Whitney, and Krissy's grief overcomes her. 8:00 PM CT Lifetime

15. Suburgatory. Dalia abandons Kimantha, Kenzie, and Kaitlyn to hang out with her dad's fiancee, leaving her former friends to turn to Lisa and Tessa, and George and Dallas go to the next level with their relationship. 8:30 PM CT ABC

16. CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. Things hit close to home when Russell's son is a suspect after a basketball coach is murdered. 9:00 PM CT CBS

17. Chicago Fire. Casey deals with the consequences of confronting Det. Voight, Dawson deals with disciplinary action, and Severide reaches out to an old friend about his injury. 9:00 PM CT NBC

18. Nashville. Rayna considers moving on when DEacon puts boundaries in their relationship, Deacon is reminded of difficult times of his past when Juliette struggles with her mom's addictions, and Scarlet has added pressure because of the tension between Gunnar and Avery. 9:00 PM CT ABC

19. American Horror Story: Asylum. A new patient exposes Arden's past, and Kit fiends out why Grace was admitted to Briarcliff. 9:00 PM CT FX

20. Conspiracy Theory with Jesse Ventura. Season premiere. Lizard-like shape shifting humanoids: are they real? And could they be masquerading as trusted world leaders? The team gets to the heart of this frightening controversy that stretches from ancient civilizations, to the European monarchy, all the way to our current heads of state … and beyond. 9:00 PM CT truTV

21. Top Chef: Seattle. The 10th anniversary season of “Top Chef” kicks off as 21 chefs from around the country enter the Top Chef kitchens, only to be judged by the one and only Wolfgang Puck! Chef’testant's must compete in their own real-world challenge, and only the best move on to Seattle for chance at the Top Chef title. With one chef’testant’s wife about to go into labor and others questioning themselves and their abilities, the stakes are high but who will make it to Seattle this season? 9:00 PM CT Bravo

22. Food Paradise. We focus on hearty helpings of comfort food in a crust, from a chock full of chicken pie on Cape Cod, to a manly Aussie meat pie in Georgia, to a rib-sticking steak pie in Chicago. 9:00 PM CT Travel Channel

23. My Life Is a Lifetime Movie. A woman has a sexual relationship with the friend of her son, and a girl's life turns upside down after s he shares a naked picture of herself. 9:00 PM CT Lifetime

24. The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. The guests tonight include Daniel Craig, Dave Salmoni, and Diamond Rings. 10:35 PM CT NBC
