What’s Hot on TV Tonight – SNL with Charles Barkley and Kelly Clarkson

Saturday Night Live is back … live tonight. That pleases me to no end. I thought we’d have to wait another week or two. Hosting tonight is Charles Barkley, which nearly guarantees us that it will be a good night. The musical guest is Kelly Clarkson, the original American Idol, and I’m hoping she takes part in some skits as well. 

1. High School Football. U.S. Army All-American Bowl from the Alamadome in San Antonio. 12:00 PM CT NBC

2. College Football. BBVA Compass Bowl fro Birmingham. Pittsburgh vs. Southern Methodist. 12:00 PM CT ESPN

3. College Football. NCAA Division I, Final, from Frisco, Texas. North Dakota State vs. Sam Houston State. 12:00 PM CT ESPN2

4. Women’s College Basketball. Michigan State at Penn State. 1:00 PM CT CBS

5. Despicable Me. In this animated flick starring Steve Carell, a super villain plans on carrying out the ultimate plan to steal the moon, but gets stuck with three little orphaned girls that stand in his way. 11:40 AM CT Cinemax

6. Women’s College Basketball. Connecticut at Notre Dame. 3:00 PM CT CBS

7. College Basketball. Florida State at Clemson. 3:00 PM CT ESPN2

8. NFL Football. AFC Wild Card Game, Cincinnati Bengals at Houston Texans. 3:30 PM CT NBC

9. Date Night. Extremely funny movie with two funny people. Steve Carell and Tina Fey pretend to be another couple just to get seated at a restaurant, and are too convincing, setting themselves up on an adventure to keep themselves alive and away from the dirty cops. 4:30 PM CT HBO Signature

10. NBA Basketball. Charlotte Bobcats at Indiana Pacers. 6:00 PM CT NBA TV

11. NFL Football. NFC Wild Card Game, Detroit Lions at New Orleans Saints. 7:00 PM CT NBC

12. Cops. A homeless man refuses to leave the handicap bathroom stall in a store, two people get cozy in a stranger’s yard, and man is accused of threatening a property manager. 7:00 PM CT Fox

13. Fixing Pete. Brooke Burns stars as Ashley Boyd, a fast-rising fashion editor with a cool boyfriend and a perfect life. Her boss Nan (Valerie Harper) decides it’s time to give Ashley her very own column, and tells her that her first set of articles has to center on giving a guy a maker. That guy happens to be Pete Camden (Dylan Bruno), a chauvinist slob of a sportswriter. John Ratzenberger costars as well. 7:00 PM CT Hallmark Channel

14. My Cat from Hell. A cat stops Tim from proposing marriage, and another has an onset of aggression. 7:00 PM CT Animal Planet

15. Republican Debate. Diane Sawyer and George Stephanopoulos moderate the GOP debate in New Hampshire. 8:00 PM CT ABC

16. Mars Needs Moms. Mars has figured out what every mother wants their kids to realize, that their discipline and guidance are actually a good thing for the development of a child. In this animated movie, Mars steals the really good moms out there to transfer their mothering into robots to do the same job. A young boy stows away on the spaceship to try and rescue his mom and get her back, and gets help on Mars from the only other Earthling up there and a sympathetic martian who learned English from watching a bad sitcom from the age of Aquarius.. 8:00 PM CT Starz

17. 48 Hours Mystery. A fatal extramarital affair is featured. 9:00 PM CT CBS

18. Pit Bulls and Parolees. Tia makes a difficult decision, and a family loses their home in a fire, putting them in need of finding shelter for their pit bull. 9:00 PM CT Animal Planet

19. NBA Basketball. Milwaukee Bucks at Los Angeles Clippers. 9:30 PM CT NBA TV

20. Saturday Night Live. Charles Barkley guest hosts, and Kelly Clarkson is the musical guest. 9:30 PM CT NBC
