What's Hot On TV Tonight – Oil Industry Investigation

Tonight we have the special about the oil industry. It was originally supposed to air on Wednesday night, but it was delayed because of President Obama’s news conference. They decided to move the special to tonight and just made it part of Dateline. Possibly we’ll get some answers on why the gas prices are so fickle for the past year with highs and lows.

1. Regis and Kelly. Today’s guest is Heidi Klum. Also, a grilling segment with chef Kevin Howe. Syndicated, check local listings.

2. Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. It’s one of the first movies I can remember seeing in a theater, and it came out when I was 4. Never mind the year. I’ll always have a special place in my heart for this movie and its songs. 4:30 PM CT Retro

3. Chopping Block. Another series finishing out what’s in the can after its cancellation. In the series finale the two remaining couples have service for their opening night, attended by food critics and Piers Morgan, among other celebrities. 7:00 PM CT NBC

4. Surviving Suburbia. Steve wants to get back an end table that was delivered to a neighbor’s house by accident, yet wants to avoid conflict. Courtney and Jenna’s relationship is tested. 7:00 PM CT ABC

5. Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?. It’s another celebrity edition, this time with Sugar Ray Leonard and wrestler Bill Goldberg competing for their favorite charities. 7:00 PM CT Fox

6. Steel Magnolias. Female friendship of all different ages in a small town Southern beauty salon. The best part of the movie is the cast, with Sally Field, Dolly Parton, Shirley MacLaine, Julia Roberts, Daryl Hannah, and Olympia Dukakis. The male cast is good as well with Tom Skerritt, Sam Shepard, and Dylan McDermott. 7:00 PM CT Oxygen

7. The Goode Family. To bring a PBS station to Greenville, Gerald tries to raise money, but when it looks like he’s going to be succesful, and old woman who had donated $100,000 ends up possibly losing her house because of the donation. Andy Richter, Kevin Nealon, and Julia Sweeney provide guest voices. 7:30 PM CT ABC

8. Dateline NBC. Kidnapped Heiress: The Patty Hearst Story. 8:00 PM CT NBC

9. Mental. Jack is in the middle of a murder mystery when a drug dealer is murdered and the victim’s autistic daughter is the only witness. When detectives can’t get any useful info from her, Jack uses unconventional ways to get clues from her statements. Arturo visits with his father who belives that paying a doctor on a soap will help him solve a real medical case. 8:00 PM CT Fox

10. Eureka. After Dr. Tess Fontana reopens Section 5, objects become ambulatory, and it could be the work of poltergeists. 8:00 PM CT Syfy

11. Whale Wars. Steve Irwin gets surrounded by three Japanese harpoon ships. 8:00 PM CT Animal Planet

12. 20/20. Over a Barrel: The Truth About Oil. A look into the oil industry and why gas prices have fluctuated so much, as well as a look into alternative sources of energy 9:00 PM CT ABC

13. Wendy Williams Show. Vivaca A Fox and Jordin Sparks are the guests. 10:00 PM CT BET

14. Tonight Show With Conan O’Brien. Tonight’s guests are Seth Rogen, Rose Byrne, and Eric Hutchinson. 11:37 PM CT CBS
