What's Hot On TV Tonight – Mother and Daughter Face Off


Tonight we’re promised a faceoff between Joan and Melissa Rivers, but for all we know it’s just more senseless buildup like we had with the Dennis Rodman Explosion, or whatever the heck they were billing it as. Either way, even if not much comes of that, there should be plenty else to watch, with Melissa getting more upset with Annie Duke, and the other team trying to bring out one of Annie’s arch rivals to compete against her. It should be interesting.

2. NBA Playoff: Game 1: Jazz at Lakers. It’s the Western Conference quarterfinals where the L.A. eliminated Utah last season. 2:00 PM CT ABC

3. Fast Times at Ridgemont High. Being that this came out a few months after I graduated high school, I always have to identify with the depiction of high school life. Find out about the great characters in this film at Sazze. 2:00 PM CT Cinemax East

4. A Cinderella Story. A modern Disney fairy tale with Hilary Duff taking on the Cinderella-type role, meeting her prince at the school’s Halloween dance. 3:00 PM CT ABC Family

5. 60 Minutes. Reports on 401K retirement funds, cold fusion as an energy source, and a profile of bullfighting brothers. 6:00 PM CT CBS

6. Miss USA Pageant. Billy Bush and Nadine Velazquez host, with Kevin Rudolf and the Veronicas performing. The judges include Kenan Thompson, Eric Trump, Perez Hilton, and Willie Geist. 6:00 PM CT NBC

7. America’s Funniest Home Videos. Included are out of the ordinary wedding proposals, a woman rescuing a squirrel, a teen on a ride at an amusement park, and a dog trying to outwit a human. 6:00 PM CT ABC

8. King of the Hill. Hank gets upset with Bobby’s misbehavior, as Lucky offers an intervention at the church for Bobby. Hank and his neighbors compete in a Fourth of July fireworks showdown with a rival neighborhood. 6:30 PM CT Fox

9. The Amazing Race. The teams go from Thailand to China, which might give Mark and Michael a chance to catch up. 7:00 PM CT CBS

10. The Simpsons. Bart develops a crush on a nursing home volunteer and decides to volunteer as well. Lisa gets depressed after her report on what Springfield will look like in 50 years, and is then diagnosed with Environment-Repeated Despair and given antidepressants. 7:00 PM CT Fox

11. Sit Down, Shut Up. Series premiere. This animated comedy about a high school faculty that is quite dysfunctional features the voices of Will Arnett, Jason Bateman, and Will Forte. 7:30 PM CT Fox

12. The Courageous Heart of Irena Sendler. A fact-fased drama featuring Anna Paquin as a Polish social worker, Irena Sendler, who helped saved nearly 2500 Jewish children from being taken to death camps in WWII. 8:00 PM CT CS

13. Celebrity Apprentice. It’s the continuation of the jewelry collection auction that was started last week. So many things to watch for. 8:00 PM CT NBC

14. Desperate Housewives. Everyone reminisces about Edie, as Susan remembers when they met, Lynette remembers a particular night, Gaby remembers a friendly competition, and Bree remembers Edie’s thoughtfulness toward Orson. 8:00 PM CT ABC

15. Family Guy. Mayor West legalizes marijuana, with Brian spearheading the act after he’s caught with pot and jailed. Quagmire undergoes a transformation of his personality after he gets a cat. 8:00 PM CT Fox

16. American Dad. Steve and Stan work on bonding as they travel to Albuquerque to search for doors for a DeLorean Stan has been rebuilding. Roger, Hayley, and Francine go on their own adventure, but struggle to find something to do. 8:30 PM CT Fox
