What's Hot On TV Tonight – Happy Valentine's Day!


Happy Valentine’s Day! There’s nothing on! I’m kidding, of course, but there are very few shows on primetime tonight that aren’t in reruns. Nevertheless, I’ve got those and dug up a few good movies as well. I imagine those TV programmers figured we’d all be out and wouldn’t be watching TV anyway, except for NBC. They know even if we do go out, we’ll still tape SNL, especially with Alec Baldin and the Jonas Brothers.

1. Girls Just Want to Have Fun. I liked this movie, my husband seemed to think it emasculated him. Sarah Jessica Parker as a teenager, circa the Square Pegs/Footloose years, wants to dance on an American Bandstand type of show. 12:30 PM CT ABC

2. Winter Games Celebrity Sports International. Celebrities partcipate in winter sports to raise money for their favorite charities. Includes Kevin Bacon, Kyra Segwick, Tim Robbins, Susan Sarandon, Alicia Silverstone, Jean Claude Van Damme, Kathy Ireland, Corbin Bernsen, Dennis Franz, and Pierce Brosnan. 1:30 PM CT ABC

3. Beverly Hills Cop. Every time I see the name of this movie, I hear the instrumental theme song in my head, and I just think, wow, could that be anymore 80s? Eddy Murphy plays a Detroit cop relocated to Beverly Hills. 2:00 PM CT Comedy Central

4. Be My Valentine, Charlie Brown; A Charlie Brown Valentine. In the first of two Peanuts cartoons, Charlie waits by the mailbox, Sally misunderstands, thinking Linus’ gift for his teacher is for her, and Lucy is expecting affection from Schroeder. In the second half hour, Chuck is still in love with the little red-haired girl, Sally tries figure out a way to romance Linus who is reluctant, Snoopy writes the perfect poem, and Peppermin Patty runs into competition for Charlie’s affections. 7:00 PM CT ABC

5. Cops. Included is a suspicious person call that turns into a drug possession case, a DUI charge for a motorcyclist, and a grocery story theft. 7:00 PM CT Fox

6. America’s Most Wanted. Convicted murderer Sarah Pender is interviewed about her escape from prison last summer. Also included is a report on a fugitive task force in Texas made of of U.S. marshals and police officers, a Fresno man wanted on a charge of murdering his girfriend, and the search for the killer of a Bronx mechanic. 8:00 PM CT Fox

7. Say Anything … John Cusack classic of a guy from the wrong side of the tracks that falls for a girl from the right sie of the tracks. Ione Skye and John Mahoney star as well. 7:00 PM CT FMC

8. 48 Hours Mystery. Akiller threatens and terrorized a girl, telling her he wants her whole family dead. 9:00 PM CT CBS

9. Saturday Night Live. It’s always a good show when Alec Baldwin is the guest host. In addition the musical guest is the Jonas Brothers. 10:30 PM CT NBC
