Rockman – Coconut Rum Mousse, Lime-Pineapple Coulis, and Vanilla Bean – Unibrow wants a tiny umbrella. Rockman says you win it with the pack of gum. Nice.
Carlos – Passion Fruit Gelée, Coconut Tapioca, and Meringue
Hammer – Dulce De Leche Brownie
Baby Hands – Lemon Mascarpone Pancakes with Cream and Strawberries
Katzie – Chocolate Cream Cookie, Bitter Chocolate Cream, and Orange Cheesecake – Unibrow finds a lot going on.
Matt – Oatmeal Raisin Cookie Parfait – Too sweet, or so says the judges
Megan – Herbal Infused Yuzu Curd
Macho 2 (Melissa) – White Coffee Cream with Honey Roasted Bananas and Brown Butter Crumbs – Unibrow agrees with me.
Paz – Black Forest Dessert – Unibrow eats it as if it was a shot, and says it tasted like an eyeball. I really don’t want to know how he knows that.
Orlando – Chocolate Breton with Chocolate Ganache, Chocolate Chantilly Cream and Raspberry Coulis
Rebecca – Raspberry, Panna Cotta, and Linzer Crust – Gail wanted more of a gingerbread taste.
Macho 1(Sally) – Passion Fruit Piña Colada – Gail reacted strongly to the tartness.
Bottom Three – Rebecca (too many flavors), Macho 2 (the coffee thing) and Matt (tasted like a granola bar).
Top Three – Baby Hands (really, pancakes), Paz (it was interesting), and Carlos (it worked really well). I fully expected Carlos to take it, but amazingly Baby Hands wins. He gets a patronizing cheer from the other chefs. Everyone wins a trophy!! As it turns out later on, Baby Hands needed it, and Paz could really have used it.
Elimination Challenge: Create a Dessert Table Presentation for She-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named. Baby Hands is a team captain and he selects Rockman to be the other for no apparent reason. Baby Hands takes Macho 1, and Rockman takes Hammer. Baby Hands takes Matt, and Rockman takes Carlos. Baby hands takes Orlando, and Rockman goes with Megan. Baby Hands takes Paz, as Rockland goes with Katzie. And hysterically, Baby Hands takes the injured Rebecca over Macho 2, as she gets picked last yet again. The tables wind up looking like rejects from Dolores Umbridge’s Sweet Sixteen (look up the name, non-Potter fans).
The information needed here – the guest will pick the dessert table she likes the best. Her husband coached the teams by saying she likes pink, flowers, the friggin dog, and other things. Baby Hands’ team aimed too low and wound up with a nice looking table, but one that would have been appropriate for a child, not a woman. Katzie makes the brilliant decision to make a doggie dessert – something which may have actually put them over the top. It was certainly noticed by the guest.
