|Misty wound up staying in the car and putting her feet up on the dashboard and blasting the music while her mom went to church. Later, as they left the church, the road they traveled on was a desolate straight road that was dark and nearly abandoned (did these people not watch “The Hitcher”). The sun was setting, and Stephanie admits she gripped the steering wheel and drove like a little old lady, afraid to drive in the dark.
Stephanie does not like to drive at night because she can’t see. Misty believes they were traveling at about 50 to 55 mph when she had a strange overwhelming feeling. She spotted a girl sitting on the side of the road, huddled up with her arms wrapped around her knees and rocking frantically back and forth. Misty told her mother she saw the girl, and in order to pacify Misty and her mixture of curiosity and fear, her mother turned around and went back about a half mile. The girl was still sitting in the same position. Stephanie did another U-turn and went back, and the girl was gone. She had thought maybe the girl got scared and ran into the woods.
Stephanie began to drive up the road again and noted the girl again. Misty began to panic, and just retelling the story now, complains it turns her stomach and makes her nervous. She huddled up on the floor, and her mother asked her to roll down the window to see if the girl needed help. Really, you are in the middle of nowhere, and it’s dark, and no one is around. So yes, let’s stop and open the windows. They spotted her full-on in the headlights of the car, and the girl sat up and turned to look at them. She had no face and was completely hollow. The two began screaming, and Stephanie went into full panic. It was peddle to the metal time. She floored it to get home, no granny driving now.
As they drove away, the girl disappeared. Misty is a little overdramatic, traumatized by this event. She put herself in a fetal position and covered her ears and closeed her eyes for the drive home. It was not a good move to open the window, in which Misty said was the only sound she heard. Stephanie later found out there was a young girl from her school who was killed at the same location. Stephanie and Misty return to the spot to pay their respects and they indeed realize that it is the same girl they saw.
There was terror, a few good frights and good stories told by the actual people who lived through these events. Make sure to watch next week’s episode of “Paranormal Witness,” Wednesdays on the Syfy channel at 10/9c.
